As a supplier of prototype components to JCB for many years, it is now a requirement that we control certain parts of the manufacturing process. As a supplier of non-production components, we are fortunately not required to have a full ISO 9001 Quality System. We wanted to operate only the parts of the system required i.e. section 8 – Operation (Control of Design Changes), in order to retain this major customer.

After spending time on site to witness activities, the necessary procedure and flow charts were produced and all within the agreed time frame. We have found it to be far easier and cost effective to accommodate this than having a full quality system. We have maintained our prices for other customers that don’t require it and don’t want to be burdened with the additional cost.

JCB have since audited and approved the documents and continue to be our major customer.

Many thanks Nick Webb and Associates.
